The Highlands Point trail system is located on the west side of the Highlands Ranch Backcountry, and offers great mountain views on all of it's trails. The Highlands Point trails are intersected by the Douglas County East-West Trail. The Rocky Gulch trail is is the only trail in The Highlands Point trail system to the northeast of the Douglas County East-West Trail.

The Highlands Ranch Highlands Point trail system includes 9 trails, as compared with three trails in the Wildcat Mountain System. It is bigger, but some of the trails, like Bucksnort, Beeman Point, and Cowboy Up, are quite short.
