The Old Man Defeated by The Sea

Karl Kelman easily defeated by surf at Mullet Bay in St. Maarten. I think that's a jumbo shrimp hanging out of my nose, and I had sand in my ears for another two weeks.

Karl and waves in St. Maarten. Most of the time, the ocean is very quiet in St. Martin, but we had a couple of days with some surf - enough that people could surfboard!


Karl about to get really wet

A rock formation greatly magnified the height of the waves in this location. A wave 3 or 4 feet high could splash 30 feet into the air. I'm about to get wet!


A Larger Than Average Wave

Chris and Juliana asked me to keep an eye out for extra large waves has one of them posed for a picture, and the other took it. I couldn't really tell if it was much bigger, so, tentatively, I said Larger Than Average. There was a thunderous crash, and all of us where soaked. Nobody else thought my gift for understatement was a gift.


Home away from Home

We had a great hotel room in St. Martin, with Palm Trees and a nice view of the ocean.
