In The Mood is a great ski run off of Loveland's Chair Eight. Some might argue that it's the best ski run in the Chair Eight Valley. You can access In The Mood from Chet's Run or from The Plunge. I'm not sure that one way is better than the other. The Plunge gives you two or three steep turns, but Chet's Run enables you to experience the full length of In The Mood. There are some small clumps of trees at the bottom of In The Mood that can offer some of the best powder at Loveland. The trees provide a wind-protected area where snow can settle after blowing across the vast open expanses of the Chair Eight Valley and the North Ridge above. The runout from In The Mood is Awesome, which takes you back to the Bottom of Chair Eight.
Chair Eight is one of the few areas at Loveland Basin that requires any navigational skills. With every other chair (as a general rule), just keep skiing and you'll wind up at the bottom, often passing the reload or bottom of a majority of the chairs along the way. However, Chair Eight is it's own little world, and to return to the rest of Loveland, you'll either need to take a high catwalk traverse, staying to the skier's right, which takes you back to the Land of Chair Four. Or alternately, take The Face (very south facing - watch for rocks) back to a foot tunnel under I-70 which will exit at the Base Lodge.
