The Bucksnort trail, and most of the Highlands Point Trail System, is open for hiking and biking in the winter. Portions of Bucksnort are shaded by the surrounding scrub oak (some of which can grow 20 feet tall), and these parts can become icy if they are packed down. Fresh snow usually offers pretty good traction. Mud is the worst condition: It's bad hiking, bad biking, and using the trail during muddy periods damages the trail.
