Excelleration is a short intermediate run located between Catwalk Trees and Tempest. It's generally ungroomed and gets some small moguls on it. For some reason, it's my impression that the snow quality on Excelleration isn't quite as good as most Chair One runs. I can't think of a logical reason why Excelleration wouldn't get as much snow as some other Chair One runs. It may be slightly more west-facing and catch more of the afternoon sun.

Excelleration isn't a bad run - it's just not a run that inspires a great deal of passion for me - average snow quality, average steepness, and short. I tend to think of it as more of a variety run and a way to get from point A to point B.

To access Excelleration, use Catwalk. The runouts from Excelleration will take you to the bottoms of Chair Six, Chair Two Reload, the Poma, or Chair Four. If it's a powder day, maintain your momentum at the bottom to avoid double poling the a short flat section.

All opinions listed on this website are just that: personal opinions. Do not rely on this site for expert advice about skiing or Loveland Basin. Loveland's got a great website. Visit it! Take a lesson before you go skiing! Loveland has a good ski school. Don't ski on Excelleration when the run is roped off, or you are likely to hit a big rock about two-thirds of the way down and lose one of your skis. Use the proper ski equipment and consult real professional ski area employees before you do anything where you are likely to hurt yourself.
